In a time when one is bombarded by the politics of healthcare, one can neglect the true meaning of medicine: meeting people where they are in illness and health and taking the time to listen to a person’s story. Narrative medicine is a way for healthcare professionals to reach these stories on a personal level, bringing the art of medicine to life.
For those in the healthcare field--nurses, physicians, students, counselors, chaplains, interpreters--who are interested in coming together to share their creative endeavors--their stories in poetry, short fiction, memoir or song, come to Narrative Medicine Stories at Twenty Stories on March 5, at 7PM.
Come to listen, come to share in this beautiful, intimate space, surrounded by books and friends. After the reading, there will be an opportunity for others in the field to share their own stories.
